Share your vision: While you as an entrepreneur have a very clear vision of where you want to take your business, unless the same vision is shared with employees and they are co-opted into believing in the same vision, their work will never be in sync with what is required. Therefore, at various times the business owner must take the lead in sharing the vision of the company. In fact, most established businesses treat the Vision of the Company as the basic DNA around which the organization is built.

Setting Goals: Most successful organisations excel at setting up individual milestones and goals for its employees. When an employee knows what his/her deliverables are, s/he is able to focus better on the goals set and deliver on expectations. The competitive spirit of an employee generally takes over in the scenario where a goal is well defines.

Motivation: Be it home or the office, when we can motivate those who are central to our lives, the results are always positive. A leader should always be a good motivator and should be able to help his/her team in times where their performance is suffering. One should be able to empathize, support and guide them through their difficulties.

Invest in your Employees: When individuals work for long number of hours, they expect a basic comfort level and an atmosphere that allows them opportunities of growth & learning. Thus, companies must always make efforts to invest in their employees’ well being. Organizing team meets, celebrations, ideas exchange sessions, skill enhancement programs, public acknowledgement & appreciation of employees’ achievements – all these go a long way in generating an atmosphere of trust and increasing output.
