It is common to think that the grass is greener on the other side. There are many people who used to have full-time jobs and have now shifted to freelance jobs and are much happier. In the same way there are many freelancers who are now happier with full-time employment. But the question is - Which one is better for you?
Full time
The strongest advantage for a full time job is that it gives you job security. Even when you fall ill, your job will be there when you get better. A full time job gives you a job title, one that you can discuss with your friends and family and one that tells you exactly what you were hired to do. A full time job gives you a regular cash flow as you get paid at the start of every month.
On the other hand a full time job leaves you with very little time for other things in life. You leave home early in the morning and by the time you come home in the evening you’re too tired to do anything. This leaves no time for friends and family. This leads to you growing comfortable and forgetting about learning and advancing personally.
Freelancing
Freelancing gives you the freedom of working at any time and from anywhere. You could be sitting in your PJ’s in bed at 2am and working on your projects if you want to. This also saves the money and time that you spend travelling, eating, dry cleaning and washing your clothes regularly. Freelancing pays you handsomely for a job that only lasts a day or a week. Freelancing also gives you exposure to different projects, constantly challenging you and helping you grow and gain more skills.
Unlike a full time job where you are given assignments by your boss and superiors, to get a freelancing job you need to put yourself out there. Starting up a freelance service takes a long time and many freelancers never make it past this phase. Freelancing has no regular work flow. You might have to stay up 5 nights in a row to finish a project some day or you might not have any work for months. There is no guarantee of when you get more work or where it will come from.
After reading the advantages and disadvantages of a full time and freelance job we have a better understanding of which one is right for you. You need to read and understand both advantages and disadvantages to know which one is the right choice for you. How about both? Most freelancers have to face the problem of finding a place to work and getting more work. This problem can be solved by the coworking spaces in Mumbai. The professional landscape itself is changing with the introduction of coworking offices.
Working at a coworking office helps you get in touch with other freelancers who have projects on hand which they might need help on. Just get in touch with AccessWork and you can rent a desk to work from.
